Family History Research Using Family Search

In Grandpa and Grandma Clement's last post we started with Aunt Peggy's FG sheet of Lyman R Andrews. As we got into researching (using Ancestry.com) we found his name to be Lyman Beecher Andrews and his parents to be Moses and Susan shown in Tree above. His wife, Emma was only shown as Emma E. We found her name to be Emma E. Quade (or Quadde) and we found her parents and added them to Family Search Family Tree. We made an FOR, 31 ordinances, of newly added Andrew names. We havn't done an FOR for the Quade additons yet. We found the Quadde family in an 1866 immigration record (Breman Germany to New York) showing Gotlieb, Wilhamina parents, Emma and siblings.
Today we will try to extend the Andrews Family using Family Search instead of Ancestry.com. Family Search contains the old LDS Church records going back to the "4 Generation program" and all of the more recent record produced by our indexing work. Books and other record are digitized and available on-line. These records can be put in "source box" and attached to person in Family Tree. Family members may then see where you got the information.

I went to Family Search, clicked on "search", entered the information for Moses Andrews with spouse Susan and above are the search results. The Massachussets death record for Moses, (which I put in source box and then attached to Moses) shows his parents.

We now see above,  Family Search Record Search results for the search for parents of Moses. The information in Family Search record Search is confirmed in Ancestry.com (see Tree below from Ancestry). We try to confirm info with as many sources as possible.

We now know Jacob Andrews, his wife, Sarah Tyler, their 10 children, and Jacob's Father and Mother. We can now add these Family members to Family Tree, print an FOR and we will be able to do their Temple Work. If you have questions in your work, call or email. Bless you in this great eternal work. Mark- You and Hannah can click the green arrow for the Quadde family, Emma's family, and do the FOR- they are already in FT. You will need to enter into Family Tree, Jacob Andrews and Sarah Tyler and their 10 children. You can also enter the parents of Jacob, Thomas Andrews and Mary Burnham. I believe they all came from Massachusetts. You might want to bring up the Jacob Andrews Family Tree in Ancestry (the one shown above.
